The First Tool in a Trailblazer's Survival Kit

A trailblazer is one who sets a standard in his/her field. A born-again Spirit-filled member of the cocoon; a game-changer! A young person that wants to leave a Jesus-life phenomenal legacy.

However, as a trailblazer, you will certainly find yourself in a crisis situation; alone and stranded in enemy territory; situations that will have every reason to scare you to death, something we refer to as 'casala don burst'! Then, you'll be faced with the question:

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH A CRISIS SITUATION?

The journey of trailblazer is full of troubles. As a soldier (2 Timothy 2:3-4) stranded in enemy territory, you'll need a survival kit- a package of survival tools packaged to take one through an emergency usually containing food, water, a knife, etc.  The first tool in the survival kit of a trailblazer however is:

  • CONFIDENCE IN GOD (John 14:1, Isaiah 41:10, Mark 3:3-41)
When trouble comes, don't be troubled- it's not living in denial. It's only acknowledging the fact that you believe you have God on your side and that nothing can go wrong because all things are working for your good (Romans 8:28).

When in a distress situation, the first thing that comes into you is FEAR (False Evidence Appearing Real). It only gives the devil access to you. It gives him a foothold in your life through which he can introduce other crazy thoughts in your head.

God is fully aware of this and commands us to give no room to devil but we are to have faith in God who is exceedingly able. Therefore, you'll need to calm yourself especially your emotions and your words. If you speak the wrong words, you'll get the wrong response. Also, your emotions are not dependable, only God is!

If you always act based on your emotions, you'll act impulsively and our emotions are not stable at times. Anger is one big emotion we need to control as it can lead to expensive mistakes e.g Moses. It can be calmed by crying, staying away from the cause for a while, focusing on something else, taking deep breaths. Self-control is key to living maturely.

Don't panic, only believe!
